After two years of waiting for an album, the fans got what they were waiting for. In 2000 came Bloodbath's EP "Breeding Death", and it has become really huge in the heavy metal scene. Now Bloodbath's debut album has finally been released, it’s called "Resurrection Through Carnage". Bloodbath is a project with some major Swedish metal artists involved.

Mikael Åkerfeldt - lead vocals (Opeth)
Anders Nyström - guitar (Katatonia, Diabolical Masquerade)
Jonas Renkse - bass (Katatonia, October Tide)
Dan Swanö - drums (Edge of Sanity, Nightingale)

"Breeding Death" was recorded during a weekend just for fun and was not ment to be released at all. On the debut album though, they have spent more time on both lyrics and music, and on the recording as well.
Music-wise Bloodbath is nothing new. It’s brutal Swedish death metal. It sounds like something from the early 90's and similar to Swedish groups like Entombed, Grave, and Dismember. Bloodbath continues and take over were those groups ended, or walked in a different musical path. I’ve been a big fan of death metal since back in the day, and for an old fan like me this sounds incredibly good, indeed.
On "Resurrection Of Carnage" Bloodbath has put 10 incredible strong tracks, everyone of them is brilliant. The production are also really strong. You can hear what Mikael sings, Anders impresses big time, and Dan has managed to create an amazing drum sound.
As usual when it comes to death metal, the lyrics are mostly about death, darkness, and evil. And Bloodbath's lyrics are no exception to that. A few of the brilliant songs are "Ways To The Grave", "So You Die", "Death Delirium" and "Bath In Blood".
This is early 90's Swedish death metal at it’s best, the debut is a masterpiece. I hope that they are going on tour with this so everybody can catch them live!
