These Dutch death metal boys have been ruuning around the European scene for some time now. With two other cd's under their belt, this is there first in the USA and under a larger label, such as Metal Blade. Overall, the cd is a good start in the States, but doesn't deliver the full punch needed to make a mark on the scene over here. Songs like "Your Final Swansong", the crushing "Obey Me" and their ungodly cover of Death's "Pull The Plug" shine very brightly, but the rest of the cd don't really go the distence with it's Gothenberg-style Death Metal. I'd wonder what there other two albums sounded like, compared to this one. Eitherway, Callenish Circle looks like an awesome band that could rise to the challenge on their next album. Just not right now. Still, it's worth a listen, none the less.
