With a lot of the tracks almost messing together through the lackluster production that is quality black metal, Darkthrone's latest release is full of different tempos and almost punk pick-me-ups. Where modern day Black Metal would have you believe it's all about the blast beat, this album is more riff orienated, and deliveres a more layered guitar sound than I've heard before. Again, alot of the tracks blend together so much it's a blur, but you can catch some riffs here and there that will make your ear perk up. The highlight of the record by far is the end track, "Rawness Obsolete" so many layers and time changes that groove on this track. It just makes you have to take notice and recognize it's greatness, now throw up some horns and bang that fucking head bitch!
