3/9/03 Metallica's new album "St.Anger" will come with a bonus DVD directed by Wayne Isham featuring every song on the album being performed at the band's rehersal space.
3/6/03 For those keeping tabs on Jason, he is not only now in Voivod, but is also playing bass with Ozzy's band this summer on Ozzfest.
2/24/03 Ozzy must be pissed folks, because Metallica have stolen his bass player. It's offical, former Suicidal Tendencies 5 stringer Robert Trujillo is now in Metallica... I'm never gonna get used to this. Metallica will do a U.S. tour this summer, I'll spare everyone a severe case of nausea by only mentioning The Deftones are also on the bill, dates are HERE
11/25/02 Well, Jason has joined Voivod, the band's new album will be out 3/4/03
5/28/02 Well, the last 2 weeks were cool, thanx to everyone who showed up at the Echobrain shows to hang...photos of the Boston show are right HERE
5/3/02 Not too much to report over the last few months, but on a very Metallica related note, Jason's project Echobrain released their album today!
5/1/02 I've noticed that due to some recent webhosting problems my "form-mail" script is not longer functioning properly and therefore if anyone is trying to join the chapter online they aren't getting anywhere, so...just e-mail me and I'll send a form out!
7/19/01 The mighty Hetfield is in rehab...the band's offical statement reads:
To Our Friends:
We would like you all to know that James Hetfield has entered a
rehabilitation facility to undergo treatment for alcoholism and other
addictions.
James has entered an undisclosed facility, and he will continue to
receive treatment until further notice. Until then, we have postponed
all current activities, including recording sessions for our new album,
as well as the July 29th launch party for metallica.com.
We have always thought of you all as family, and wanted you to know
before this information gets out through other sources. James is
working hard toward recovery, and needless to say he has our full
support. We trust that you will appreciate the sensitive nature of
this matter, and respect our wishes to give James the time and privacy
he needs to deal with his problems.
Until then, thank you in advance for keeping James in your thoughts and
prayers, and we look forward to continuing to share music with you in
the future.
5/15/01 Congrats to Lars and Skylar, on Sunday May 6th Layne Ulrich was born at 3:26 PM
4/25/01 The three remaining members of Metallica entered a Bay Area recording studio this week to begin working on a new studio album. The boys will be holed up in the studio this summer with no bassist. We can expect an album later this year or early next year.
4/6/01 Lars Ulrich made an onstage appearance at a Godsmack show in Chicago’s UIC Pavilion Wednesday night. For some reason Lars came out at the end of Godsmack's set in a wheelchair (probably just to fuck with everyone, as he was walking around freely while Sully was talking to the crowd). Lars was in town to see Systematic (a band signed to his The Music Company label) who are currently opening for Godsmack on their US tour.
3/20/01 The box set of McFarlane Metallica figures, will be released on October 1st, 2001
Kirk will join Carlos Santana in a charity jam in San Francisco April 4th. Kirk will do 3 songs with Santana as part of a benefit concert for the San Francisco School Of The Arts.
2/1/01 Metallica won't be auditioning bass players anytime soon, James, Lars and Kirk have chosen instead to concentrate on writting material for a new album which will see Bob Rock producing yet again.
