Yet another EMPEROR side project. MYRKSKOG takes up on the same path as ZYKLON, but adds more Death Metal to their sound. In a nutshell, picture EMPEROR with no screams, just roars, add samples and industrial keyboards and a more violent Death-sounding version of Black Metal. In the end, it works for MYRKSKOG just as well as it did for ZYKLON. One extra goodie on this album is the re-mix of their own song, "SYNDROME 9". Evil guitar heavy trance and house with blast beats. You need to hear it to believe it. Yet another side of the boys from EMPEROR that we haven't seen yet. But, that was part of their appeal. They always found a way to stretch the limits of their music.
