Nililist is the band that Alex Hellid, Nicke Anderson, Johnny Hedlund, and L-G Petrov all played in before Entombed was born. They disbanded Nihlist in 1989 and formed Entombed soon thereafter, and these recordings show the early formations of Entombed's groundbreaking death metal sound. This missing death metal link contains 14 tracks of oh, so good old-school death metal...the kind I know and love. The recording leaves much to be desired, but I guess that's expected considering that these are demos recorded on who-knows-what almost 20 years ago. Actually, it's a part of the whole sound and vibe, so it's all good, I've heard far worse. The songs themselves completely shred, it takes you back to the earlier days of Sepultura, Venom, and Slayer, when death and black metal had more groove, better vocals, and crazy solos. Pick this up and get schooled!
