Yes, there IS a metal scene here in Massachusetts! These guys are from around Springfield (right outside of it actually), and I've carried around their stuff, set it up and broken it down, sold t-shirts etc, many times. And they go and get a record deal...cool shit.
These guys sound like melodic European metal, with vocals that are a cross between death metal, and harmony singing. There are intricate guitar parts, sudden time changes etc...You've gotta hear it for yourself.
My favorite track on here, without a doubt, is the epic "To Ashes", an older tune I've heard live countless times, (this was on their first album on Lifeless records), and it always seems to stick out... There's the death metal sounding intro, then into the vocal parts, all of sudden, an acoustic breakdown with mellow guitars. A speed metal buildup...another melodic part...it's crazy.
"Of One Blood" is another favorite..."The First Noble Truth" and "Pain Glass Vision" are also pretty cool
