Richard Andersson, a world class keyboard player and music/writer, formed Majestic. They released two albums with neo-classic progressive metal. During the summer of 2001 Richard wasnt satisfied with what Majestic had achived on the two albums and he put the band on ice. Richard was not content with the pepole who worked with the band as well. (I dont agree with Richard though, I think that the two Majestic albums were really smashing.) So Richard went on and formed a new band which he called Time Requiem. Along with him Richard has almost the same people who worked with him on the second Majestic album. Dick Lvgren (In Flames, Arch Enemy and Last Tribe) is the only new one in this constellation.

Richard wanted to do something new and fresh with this album. He wanted to swing the neoclassic metal to a higher dimension than what he had done before. So he called his good friend Jonas Reingold to ask him if Time Requiem could record their album in Jonas studio. The album was recorded in Jonas studio and produced by Richard and Jonas and mixed by Fredrik Nordstrm at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Time Requiem plays more profound music than Majestic. It has more tempo-changes and is faster. The whole band is tighter than before because the music is difficult to play with lots of tempo changes. Richard sure shows that he is one of the best keyboard-players in the world. Apollo has an amazing voice and Peter impresses a lot behind his drums. After two months in the studio, the album was made. It contains nine tight, pure, agressive neo-classical progressive metal tracks. And the result was so good that it was mixed immediately.
"Time Requiem" is the first track in the album. It begins with Richard and Peter before Apollo joins them. He has a brilliant voice, it sounds really good. In "Watching The Tower Of Skies" theres an intro with church choirs before Richard comes along, Apollo starts to sing and the rest of the band starts to play. "Milagros Charm" is heavy and fast and Richard plays a solo. In "The Aphorism" the keyboard comes in the beginning. This song is kind of a ballad. Magnus lets us enjoy his excellent guitar playing in the end of the song. "Brutal Mentor" is an instrumental track. Its very fast and has a lot of tempo changes. "Visions Of A New Dawn" is more melodic metal with some choirs that back up Apollo perfectly. Another instrumental track is "Interplay Of Matters", the track is short, only two minutes and theres are lot of tempo changes in this track. The final song in the album is "Above And Beyond". That song is also more of a melodic metal track. In the middle theres a solo well played by Magnus.
Richard shows again that he and Time Requiem are the best neo-classical progressive metal group in the world. No other group can compete with them. My expectations were high on Richard when I heard about his new group and he didnt disappoint me at all. Time Requiem has made a brilliant album, a masterpiece...
