Christmas starts off with blending melodies and swirling guitars that not only attack you with harmonized vocals, but just a sonic flooding of colours. This isn't music you listen to, it's music you dream in. Landscapes are created and destroyed to the listener's ear and imagination. The actual tracks alone almost could be put back to which the band from which they were written, having members of Isis, Converge and Cave In will do that to you. Tracks like "Skullstorm", and "Tis Better to Recieve" are more in the vein of Converge. Whereas tracks like "Sleeping with the Snakes", "The Volcano", and "Caleb the Cowboy" are more Cave In-style. But then you have tracks that seem to push Isis to it's limits, bringing back memories of Misquito Control and of course their latest album Oceanic. These are songs to get lost in people, not to humm in the shower or ride to work. Grab some headphones and comfy chair, and find out where you are.
