After the doom onslaught of White I and White II, Sunn O))) now offers us the very aptly titled Black One. Another sloooow, dark, dank, terrifying doom album. It's kind of like ambient music for a horror movie. If you love low, humming feedback, creepy noises, and the occasional vocal from the depths of hell, then you'll love Sunn O))). Wrest, (also known as Leviathan and Lurker Of Chalice) and Malefic (otherwise known as Xasthur) provide vocals on this album, the latter giving his performance on "Bathory Erzsebet" from inside a casket. Disturbing indeed, it all adds to the mystique of those freaks in robes we call Sunn O))).
