The long-awaited collaboration between Sunn O))) and Boris is currently violating my cd rom drive. It's a noisy envelope of darkness filled with carefully placed insanity. Slow, crushing doom with piercing guitar wails and feedback for miles. The 3rd track, "The Sinking Belle (Blue Sheep)" however, is somewhat different. It's a bit lighter, and features soft, yet twisted vocals courtesy of Jesse Sykes, (Jesse Sykes and the Sweet Hereafter). Joe Preston (of Melvins, Earth, Thrones, High On Fire fame) handles the robotic-sounding vocals on the next track, which has a badass outro featuring only the drums. The album then continues with all the dark, tortured noise and feedback you could want. A truly strange dark ride.
