Album Rating:
YOB
Who can say someone
listens to abit too much Sleep and Isis. YOB is amazing as
they take stoner rock and mix it with some trippy assed
bluesy leads that make up one of the most orginal sounding
records. But see YOB goes away from the pack (you taking
notes there kiddies) and actually has some real vocals now
these might not be the best vocals in the world but they try
their best attempt at Geddy Lee as they can do. I mean this
shit is amazing, there are only 3 tracks but you get almost
50 mins of music. The first track (AEONS) was enough to make
me wanna sit thru the rest of every second of the other
tracks. The third track (Catharsis) is 23:38 seconds and is
something Sleep should have put out, but were too busy forming
High on Fire and the Sabians. This track is so groove
orientated and bluesy it makes you wanna light up. The
vocals just fit the music so well it's eerie how they do it.
One of the best records I've heard in a while.
