YOB have truly outdone themselves, in all their Black Sabbath riff-filled glory. In fact I think this album blows away the band's last album, "Catharsis", but maybe that's just me. On "The Illusion Of Motion" we get 4 tracks with layer upon layer of slow heavy goodness, and the occasional movin' and stompin' riff. Low growls and high shrieks, (The higher end vocals remind me of Geddy Lee a bit) flow melodically over doom-laden guitars, swirling effects, and feedback to create some of the finest stoner doom around.
